The Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD) of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly (OMA), Madam Joyce Akosua Angmorteh, has called on staff of the Assembly to work diligently and consciously towards leaving impactful legacies in the Municipality.

According to the MCD, staff of the Assembly are technocrats engaged by government to provide professional expertise and contribute meaningfully to the development of the Municipality. She emphasized that every staff member must remain mindful of their mandate to improve the living conditions of the people of Obuasi.
Madam Angmorteh made these remarks during a staff durbar organized by the Assembly’s administration to usher in the new working year. The durbar provided an opportunity for Management to interact with staff and outline expectations for the year ahead.
At the meeting, the MCD addressed several key issues, including staff attitude to work, performance contracts, staff appraisal processes, and staff welfare. She congratulated staff for their performance in the previous year and expressed satisfaction with the seriousness and commitment they demonstrated in executing their duties.

She noted that this dedication was reflected in the Assembly’s outstanding performance in the recently concluded District Assemblies Performance Assessment Tool (D-PAT), where the Obuasi Municipal Assembly successfully passed the assessment. She encouraged staff to sustain and even improve upon the standard set in the coming year.
The MCD also used the occasion to introduce the new Head of Central Administration, Madam Bertha Adu-Koranteng, a Deputy Director in the Local Government Service, and urged staff to extend their cooperation and support to her.
Addressing the staff, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Honourable Faustilove Appiah-Kannin, commended the workforce for the support they have given to her administration. She encouraged them to continue the good work to further enhance the image and development of the Municipality.

The MCE emphasized that her leadership style is collaborative and inclusive. She stated that she is not interested in transferring staff over trivial issues but is committed to working harmoniously with all staff to achieve the Assembly’s development goals. She further noted that she has enjoyed a positive and productive working relationship with the staff since assuming office.

The Head of Human Resource Management, Mr. Akwasi Afriyie Amoateng, also addressed the gathering. He spoke on the importance of proper use of the staff attendance register and urged staff to ensure regular signing to promote discipline and accountability. He further encouraged all employees to give their best in support of the development agenda of Obuasi.
