New Dokyiwa M/A Primary School dominated last month’s inter‑school football competitions in the Adansi area, taking first place across three tournaments and presenting the trophies to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Obuasi Municipal Assembly, Honourable Faustilove Appiah Kannin.
The competitions — which included the Inter‑District (Zonal) contest, the Obuasi Municipal tournament, and a combined Obuasi Municipal and Obuasi East event — saw New Dokyiwa outperform rival schools. Goalkeeper Master Kingsley was named the tournaments’ best player for his consistent performances between the posts.
Headmistress Millicent Ankomah presented the trophies to the MCE and commended the team’s discipline and resilience. “This achievement is the result of sustained hard work from the pupils and the unwavering dedication of our staff,” she said, thanking teachers and coaches for their support.
In her remarks, Honourable Faustilove Appiah Kannin congratulated the school on the victories and praised the staff for their commitment to developing the pupils. She said the accomplishments reflect well on the entire community and pledged support for the school’s sporting programmes, including plans to improve sports infrastructure and provide other necessary resources.
The victories mark a significant milestone for New Dokyiwa M/A Primary School and highlight the role of school sports in nurturing talent and fostering community pride.
