The Obuasi Municipal Assembly has donated a total of 1,412 bags of cement and 1,235 pieces of iron rods to Assembly Members to support the execution of community initiative projects across the Municipality.

The donation, which benefited all 19 elected Assembly Members, is intended to assist members to either initiate new projects or complete ongoing ones within their respective electoral areas. The gesture, captured in the Assembly’s 2025 Budget, aims at supporting stalled projects while encouraging Assembly Members who are yet to commence any development initiative to do so.

Speaking at a brief ceremony to hand over the items, the Municipal Chief Executive, Honourable Faustilove Appiah-Kannin, stated that the support forms part of her administration’s commitment to bringing development to the doorsteps of the people through the Assembly Members. She emphasized that the materials should be used strictly for their intended purposes for the benefit of the communities, stressing that any diversion of the items would be unacceptable.

Hon. Faustilove further acknowledged the efforts of Assembly Members in their various electoral areas and encouraged them to continue working diligently to support the Government’s development agenda at the grassroots level.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Assembly Members, the Presiding Member, Honourable James Adabour, expressed appreciation to the Assembly for the initiative. He assured the Municipal Chief Executive and Management that the materials would be used judiciously for their intended purposes and thanked the MCE and her team for making the donation possible.

The short ceremony was attended by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Joyce Akosua Angmorteh; the Finance Officer, Mr. Yahaya Zakaria; the Development Planning Officer, Lawyer Prince Owusu Agyemang; the Head of the Administrative Unit, Mr. Henry Yeboah; the Internal Auditor, Mr. Francis Addae; the Aide to the MCE, Mr. Joseph Sam; and the Municipal Information Officer, Mr. Ernest Kofi Offen.
