The Obuasi Municipal Assembly (OMA) has presented a range of farming inputs to farmer groups within the Municipality as part of efforts to enhance crop production and improve livelihoods.

The items, which included fertilizers, weedicides, pesticides, Wellington boots, and cutlasses, were distributed to various farmer groups for onward sharing among their members. Each group received 20 bags of NPK fertilizer to support the upcoming farming season.
Speaking at a short presentation ceremony held at the premises of the Assembly, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Faustilove Appiah Kannin, described the donation as a token of support from the Assembly to help farmers increase their productivity. She urged the groups to ensure equitable distribution of the items and to seek technical guidance from Agricultural Extension Officers in applying the fertilizers and chemicals.
Hon. Faustilove reaffirmed government’s continued commitment to empowering farmers through interventions aimed at boosting agricultural yields and improving living standards. She cited the recent upward adjustment in cocoa prices and the reintroduction of scholarships for wards of cocoa farmers as key examples of such initiatives.

Beneficiary farmer groups expressed their gratitude to the Assembly for the timely support, pledging to make effective use of the items to achieve better yields.
Present at the ceremony were the MCE’s Aide, the Municipal Supply Officer, the Municipal Information Officer, and some staff of the Municipal Agriculture Department.
