The Chief Executive of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly Hon. Elijah Adansi-Bonah has assured officials from the Ghana Ambulance Services that he is committed to address challenges facing their work.

The MCE said the Assembly has been supportive of the Ambulance service since it started operations in February 2020.

Presenting some five brand new tyres to the Ambulance service, Hon. Adansi-Bonah revealed that the Assembly has provided a temporal ambulance bay and office for the Services whiles some Staff have been given accommodation by the Assembly.

” This is only a tip of the iceberg, the Assembly is working to ensure that a permanent Ambulance Bay will be built for the Ambulance service whiles more of the Staff will be provided with accommodation. This will be done to ensure that they deliver on their mandate”, the Obuasi MCE added.

Speaking on the rationale behind donating the tryes to the Ambulance service, Hon Adansi-Bonah said the rapid response agency have had to deal with more workload due to the absence of the Obuasi East’s ambulance. The Obuasi East Ambulance has not been working for the past three years after it was involved in an accident.

This has invariably increased the workload on the only existing Ambulance now serving the two constituencies.

The tyres according to MCE was to replace the worn out tryes of the Ambulance which had been hampering their operations for the past two months.

Receiving the tyres, the Municipal Director of the Ghana Ambulance Service AEMT Francis Koomson commended the MCE for his swift intervention adding that the news tyres will boost their operations.

He assured resident that the Ghana Ambulance Service was better placed to deliver on their mandate since it has been adequately resourced to carry out their activities.
