OMA organised second town hall meeting of the year

The Obuasi Municipal Assembly held its second Town Hall Meeting of the year yesterday, 16th November, 2023 at the Auditorium of the Church of Pentecost, Bidieso Assembly.

The Chief Executive for the Assembly Hon. Elijah Adansi-Bonah mentioned that the Assembly prioritizes opportunities like the Town Hall Meeting to engage the people of Obuasi in a bid to strengthen accountability and transparency in governance.

He seized the opportunity to talk about a plethora of projects lined up to be constructed in the year 2024.

He talked about the Obuasi Urban Park, the reconstruction of the Apitikooko bridge, the construction of the ‘Gaslight’ road, the redevelopment of the Gauso market, the renovation of the Anglican school, the construction of about 50-lockable stores at the Obuasi Central Market, 20-seater water closet toilet facility at Obuasi Senior High Technical School, etc.

The MCE further emphasized that most of the projects lined up to be constructed next year will be financed from the Assembly’s Internally Generated Fund.

The Municipal Budget Analyst Edna Vivian Arkoh presented the 2023 Annual budget performance as well as the 2024 annual composite budget.

The Municipal Works Engineer David Agyei also seized the opportunity to talk about projects constructed by the Assembly in 2023.

Community members, including Nananom and the various stakeholders who were present at the meeting were given the opportunity to asked questions, which were subsequently answered by the MCE and the various Departmental Heads present at the meeting.
