Obuasi MCE touts key achievements as Assembly host 4 other Districts in the 2024 Regional Budget Hearing

The Chief Executive for the Obuasi Municipal Assembly Hon Elijah Adansi-Bonah was on Friday,13th October, 2023 commended by officials of the Regional Coordinating Council for his presentation on the proposed 2024 Budget of the Assembly.

At a regional budget hearing hosted by the Assembly in Obuasi, the MCE was commended for his insight into the happenings of the Assembly and leading his charges to present on the Strategic Overview of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly, Financial Performance – Revenue, Financial Performance – Expenditure, Key Achievements for 2023, 2023 Budget Programme Performance and Outlook for 2024-2027.

The Hearing was organized as part of the 2024– 2027 Composite Budget Preparation, the aim to afford the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) the opportunity to scrutinize and guide the MMDAs and ensure that allocations reflected the objectives and strategies of governmental policies, programs and are in line with the 2024–2027 Budget Guidelines as set by the Ministry of Finance.

The other districts who also participated in the budget hearing included; Adansi Asokwa, Adansi North and South District as well as the Bekwai Municipal Assembly.

Key achievements by OMA

Hon Elijah Adansi-Bonah in his presentation mentioned key achievements the Assembly has chalked so far. These included: the completion of 6- Unit Classroom Block for Methodist Primary School at Antobuasi, 2 Storey 6-Unit Classroom Block at Bogobiri, a clinic at New Nsuta/ Auntie B, 10-Seater W.C Toilet with Septic Tank at Kwabena Fori M/A JHS School, Concrete Foot Bridge at Abompe, First Floor 3-Unit Classroom Block with staff Common Room with 8-seater W/C at Bedieso MA Primary.

Again, he said the Assembly during the period has constructed an 8m Double 1800mm Diameter Pipe Culvert at New Nyamebekyere, Cassava Processing Factory at Mamiriwa, Planning Schemes for Communities Prepared (Bensiri Completed and approved, Sanso Drafted)

In Agriculture, Hon Adansi-Bonah said so far 1500 Seedlings of Coconut to 34 Farmers distributed whiles the Assembly has installed Traffic Light at Mangoase Junction.

The Obuasi MCE further mentioned the Procurement of 1 No. Mini-Bus for Revenue mobilization and maintenance of the Obuasi Central Market as key achievements for the year 2023.
