The Obuasi Municipal Assembly has set up a taskforce to collect revenue in Obuasi.
The taskforce which is made up of Urban guards, officers from the Assembly and some revenue collectors started work on Wednesday, 20th September, 2023. It is expected to visit homes, shops and businesses to demand the payment of Business Operating Permit, Property rate, container fees, market tolls, etc.
According to a leader of the Taskforce Edna Vivian Arkoh who is also the Budget Analyst of the Assembly insist that the Assembly recognizes the importance of its healthy relationship with the public. She said whiles the Assembly remains resolute in delivering on its core mandate of improving the wellbeing of the people of Obuasi, it expects residents to fulfill their civic responsibility by paying their levies to the Assembly.
She said the activities of the taskforce has so far been successful expecting the public to cooperate with them. She however advised that those who have paid their levies should insist and keep their receipts for reference purposes.
