Obuasi MCE meets with leadership of Deeper Life Church

The Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Elijah Adansi-Bonah on Tuesday, 15th August, 2023 met leaders of the Deeper life church at his office.

The six (6) member delegation from the Church was led by Pastor Kofi Adjei, the Regional overseer of the church. The rest included; Pastor Afful John Davies, Kingsley Arthur Agyei, George Adjei, Joseph Enu and Doris Adjei.

The purpose of the meeting as explained by Ps. Kofi Adjei was to introduce a flagship program by the church to the Municipal Chief Executive. Explaining further, Pastor Adjei said the church is poised to roll out the DEEPER LIFE AID within the Municipality.

 He emphasized that while the church is primarily known for its spiritual responsibilities, there is also a necessity to fulfill its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CRS). He intimated that the church has taken the initiative to train individuals in various fields of expertise within Obuasi. These domains encompasses agriculture, artisanal crafts, and other vocational training.

Ps. Kofi Adjei further clarified that this endeavor aims to generate employment opportunities for the people of Obuasi.

He again stressed that the program’s benefits extend beyond the members of the church to include people of diverse backgrounds.

He called for the support of the Assembly to make the initiative a success.

In response, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) emphasized the importance of establishing a connection between the church and the Agricultural Department to facilitate their support in this field.

He lauded the church for what he described as a bold initiative targeted at creating jobs for the people of Obuasi.

The MCE tasked the Municipal Community Development office with the responsibility of assisting the Church to liaise with the Agriculture Department regarding the initiative.

He told members of the church that he operates and open door policy hence his office is always opened for them. He asked them not to hesitate to call on him when the nerd his support.
