Hon. Elijah Adansi-Bonah, MCE for Obuasi and the Government have been hailed by residents of Komfokrom and Ntonsua communities for the massive road infrastructure in Obuasi in recent times.

However, the residents said though there is a vast improvement in the road network in the Municipality, they appeal to the Assembly and government to pay attention to the rural roads in the Municipality.

The residents of the two communities presented their concerns to the MCE when he visited the communities as part of his community tour.

The Community engagement which started in June 2022 forms part of plans by the Assembly to bring governance to the doorsteps of the people of Obuasi.

Honorable Elijah Adansi-Bonah in response to their request assured them that the Assembly has already taken stock of the deplorable roads in some rural areas in Obuasi, packaged them and submitted them to the Ministry of Roads and Highway awaiting final approval.

He said though the economy of the country is facing some challenges, he was optimistic that the roads will receive the needed approval from the Ministry.

Again, he emphasised that the Assembly is fast tracking the process to extend electricity to Komfokrom which remains the only community in the Municipality without electricity.

The Mce as part of the tour led education on acquisition of Ghana Card, NHIS card, Planting for Food and Jobs and the need for the people to be security conscious.

He also pledged to address pertinent issues affecting the Ntonsua community such as good drinking water, staff common room, teachers quarters as well as balustrade to support the newly constructed KG block.

The Police, Immigration, Fire Service, Environmental Health Department and other departments were given opportunities to also educate the people.
