The Obuasi Municipal Assembly on Wednesday, 13th October,202 took part in the 2022 Regional Budget hearing held at Adansi Akrofuom. The Hearings was organised in order to accomplish the Regulation 17 (3) of the Public Financial Management Regulations, 2019, LI 2378, which demands the Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC) in collaboration with Ministry of Finance to organize Regional Budget Hearings as part of the processes for the coming year.
The Obuasi Municipal Assembly together with the Akrofuom District Assembly and the Obuasi East District Assembly made presentations on key achievements and Budget for the 2022 fiscal year.
The team from the Obuasi Municipal Assembly was led by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Francis Dwira Darko, Heads of Department, Nananom, Assembly Members and Members of Civil Society Organizations.
The Municipal Planning Officer commenced the presentation by briefly highlighting the state/profile of Obuasi Municipal. He also touched on the performance of the Assembly in Agriculture, Education, Tourism, infrastructure, health, transport and security.
The Municipal Budget Analyst, Edna Vivian Arkoh in her presentation elaborated on the Assembly’s Financial performance as in expenditure by departments where she gave all the expenditure performance and their funding sources. She also touched on the key performance information for the budget programmes where she briefly highlighted on the economic deliveries of the assembly in the past years. On finance, she also gave out the 2022 key projects and programs from various sources.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Francis Dwira Darko, after thorough scrutiny by the Regional team led by George Kwakye Andoh, said he was happy with the suggestions made by the team and stressed that, the Assembly has taken notice of them and will work on them.
